Founded by our Director, Mrs. Carolyn Muithya, the academy stands as a testament to the transformative power of passion and unwavering dedication.
Carolyn’s journey began with a bold decision: leaving a secure, high-paying government job to pursue her calling in early childhood development and Montessori education. She never looked back, driven by a profound desire to see children thrive, to ignite their minds with knowledge, and nurture their development. In the early days of Syokimau, Blessed Assurance Academy was a beacon of learning, one of only two schools in the area. Carolyn’s commitment was so deep that she walked door-to-door, urging parents to bring their children to school, even when they couldn’t afford the fees, understanding the challenges families faced, with the nearest public school a distant 10 kilometers away, leaving many children without access to education.
The school’s humble beginnings were marked by significant obstacles. For the first five to seven years, the area lacked basic infrastructure: no roads, no electricity, and no piped water. Carolyn’s dedication shone through it all. She carried children on her back through muddy paths, with the help of hired hands, ensuring they reached school safely. She was the heart and soul of the school, serving as teacher, driver (in her small Daihatsu Charade car), and even cook, because no teachers were willing to work in such a challenging environment.
Building on decades of academic distinction and a legacy of successfully guiding students to top high schools and universities, we blend our proven educational expertise with a Christ-centered approach. Our mission is to provide a conducive learning environment that holistically prepares learners for Kenya’s KPSEA and KJSEA assessments. We achieve this by equipping them with critical thinking, creativity, and practical skills, while simultaneously instilling virtues such as integrity, compassion, and leadership through the teachings of God’s Word.
Rooted in strong Biblical values, we empower a rich diversity of learners from Pre-school (Montessori based – Playgroup, PP1, PP2) through Primary (Grade 1–6) and Junior School (Grade 7–9) to excel academically, socially, and spiritually, all within Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Syokimau Blessed Assurance Academy is located in the heart of Syokimau area along Airport Road 3 kms from Gateway mall (Navias Supermarket). The Junior school is located in Katani, Maryland Road.
